Fremantle has heaped more pain on Collingwood, with a stunning 12-point win at Optus Stadium today.

Just a day after the AFL hit the Pies with a whopping $50,000 penalty ($25,000 suspended) for a COVID-19 protocol breach, the Dockers ensured Collingwood remain outside the top eight for the first time since five.

In front of almost 21,000 fans, Fremantle ran away with the match in the last through goals to Mitch Crowden and Matt Taberner to claim a 10.1 (61) to 7.7 (49) win.

Taberner finished the match with four goals in an impressive showing.

Connor Blakely, playing his first game in season 2020, was outstanding for the Dockers with 23 disposals while Caleb Serong continued his Rising Star nominee form, picking up 24 touches and six tackles.

Collingwood, who were sitting pretty in third position just two rounds ago, have now lost back-to-back matches.

More to come.
