A slice of “inner-city Melbourne” could be up and running in Wokalup by November.

Brugan the new micro brewery attached to the Wokalup Tavern is on-track to be finished in just two months.

Owner Megan Hardwick said she hoped the venue would attract families and bring tourists to the area.

“Hopefully it will be a major drawcard for people to use South Western Highway,” Mrs Hardwick said.

“This will benefit the neighbouring towns and businesses too.”

The double storey establishment will have a balcony, beer garden and nature play space for the kids.

“We are going for that industrial feel and have made an effort to use recycled materials,” she said.

“We repurposed old bricks and happened to find old bottles when we were doing the renovations so they will form part of a feature.”

Mrs Hardwick said she hoped to hold live concerts with local WA bands in the beer garden during the summer.

However, the mum of two also wanted to create a fun space for the kids.

The 1000L industrial brewery will focus on sessionable craft beers such as lagers, pale ales and stouts.

Mrs Hardwick said she made an effort to use local builders such as Willmott Constructions and Nixon Electrics.
