For the first time in its history, the Great Southern Football League’s grand finals will be split over two days, with the colts decider between Royals and Railways to be played under lights on Friday night at Centennial Stadium.

The 16s and colts will play on Friday night, followed by the reserves and league grand finals on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions will be in search of back-to-back colts premierships against the Tigers after upsett-ing them last season in a thriller.

If successful, the Lions will claim a fourth flag in five seasons to be the favourites, going through the season with just one loss.

The Tigers will go in with plenty of confidence having won their past three games and after pushing the Lions in round seven.

The Lions will be out to win a fourth straight 16s title when they face minor premiers Albany on Friday afternoon in the grand final.

The Sharks finished on top of the ladder, losing only one game, which was to the Lions.

If the Sharks were to end the Lions’ golden run, it would be their second premiership in the 16s after winning their maiden title in 2014.

Mt Barker have a shot at the unbeaten Lions in the reserves grand final on Saturday, with the Bulls in search for their first premiership since 2011.

The Lions went through the season undefeated while the Bulls came from third and beat reigning premiers Tigers in their preliminary final to get into their first decider since 2013.

The Lions have lost the past two grand finals to the Tigers but are in terrific form as they search for their first premiership since 2017.
